OYC is planning a cruise-out to Aeolian Yacht Club (AYC) on April 09 -11, 2010.
Current (Weekend) events at AYC: Friday, April 09: The AYC bar opens at 16:00 with a $7.00 dinner in the bar at 6:00 (bring hors d’oeuvres to share). Saturday, April 10: Dinner at 6:00 (bar opens earlier). The menu includes Lemon Caper Chicken Breast (Picatta), Spinach Ravioli with Alfredo Sauce, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Mixed Fruit Salad, Mixed Green Salad, Parmesan Rice, Sour Dough French Bread and Butter, Hot Apple Cobbler/Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream (by reservation only. $17.00). Sunday morning, April 11, $4.00 continental breakfast downstairs at AYC from 8:00-10:00, with $3.00 Bloody Marys and Mimosas at the bar.
AYC can accommodate up to 20 boats. The last day to sign up is April 20.

Local Knowledge. . In spite of less than favorable tidal conditions during the cruise to AYC last year, I had no trouble with Kachina’s five foot draft. Aeolian Yacht Club Harbor: Assuming that your route passes through the Inner Harbor Tidal Canal (east of OYC), hail Estuary bridges on Channel 9 to open. Bridges will not open during commute hours (M-F, 8-9A; 4:30-6:30P). In addition, the telephone number for the Park Street Bridge is 510 522 7282. The telephone number for the High Street Bridge (return trip) is 510 533 1126. At 0 Ft. Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), there is 5 ft of water (reported) in the channel leading to AYC. There is 3.5 ft of depth reported at the entrance to AYC. Therefore, if your boat has a 6 ft. draft, you will need a tide of at least 2 feet to approach AYC’s guest dock. The forecasted high tide (at the Golden Gate) for Friday, April 9 is 4.6 ft. at 8:56A. (There is an approx. +45 minute correction in the vicinity of San Leandro Bay).
