Oakland Yacht Club offers a variety of membership opportunities to individuals and families. For the standard membership (most members), the initiation fee is $500, payable with the application, and the dues are $85 per month. Dues can be paid annually at $1020 per year. There is also $75 quarterly galley food minimum, which can be satisfied by member dining or attending club social events.

There are several different membership categories:

A) Regular (most new members);

B) Corinthian (must be between 18 and 30 years of age and be crewing on a regular member's boat);

C) Honorary (only by election by the Board of Directors and not available to present or past regular members);

D) Life (Elected by the Board of Directors from the Regular membership);

E) Non-Resident (must have been a regular member for at least one year - principle residence and boat are outside 100 mile radius);

F) Grand Mariner (Has been a regular member in good standing for 20-29 years for GOLD Grand Mariners and 30+ years for PLATINUM Grand Mariners);

G) Junior (Under 21 years of age);

H) Racing (special race only, under 35 years of age, and maximum period of two years).
