Membership in the Oakland Yacht Club is granted to an individual or a family. The membership initiation fee is $500.00, payable with the application. Dues are $85.00 per month. Dues can be paid annually at $1020.00 per year. Members are also responsible for meeting a $75.00 quarterly food minimum. When you become a member you will receive a copy of the by-laws that can be consulted regarding questions on member's rights and privileges.

There are several different membership categories:

A) Regular (most new members)

B) Corinthian (must be between 18 and 30 years of age and be crewing on a regular member's boat)

C) Honorary (only by election by the Board of Directors and not available to present or past regular members)

D) Life (Elected by the BoD from the Regular membership)

E) Non-Resident (must have been a regular member for at least one year - principle residence and boat are outside 100 mile radius)

F) Grand Mariner (Has been a regular member in good standing for 20 or more years)

G) Junior (Under 21 years of age)

H) Racing (special race only, under 35 years of age, and maximum period of two years)
